guyers connection / news 5.9.05.

22 years after the legendary first album "protrait", there's a new release by "guyer's connection". A collection of wonderful vintage-electro songs from 1982 to 1984, taken from old 4-track tapes that have been rediscovered per chance, hidden deep inside a corner of p.alioth's studio.
the vinyl-LP is released by the german electro-freak label "kernkrach" (www.kernkrach.de) in a strictly limited edition (300 expl), the covers are handmade.
if you want to pay the regular price now, instead of paying a collector's price later, contact kernkrach so soon as possible to get a copy.

original 4-track tapes found

end of september 2004 “guyer’s connection” co-founder p.alioth found again 30 old 4-track tapes of guyer’s connection songs from 1982 to 1984. together with t.csebits (vocals, sung all the songs on the 1983 album “portrait) and nin’s (vocals on some other tracks recorded in 1984) he will restore and re-mix about 10 of these songs, which should make it possible to release a new album with old songs. Several labels from germany and scandinavia are interested in releasing this album, you’ll find more news here.

1983 album “portrait” almost sold out – 20 years later

When “guyer’s connection” released “portrait” in spring 1983, they had no label, no distribution, nothing at all; they had 2 synths and a drumbox. So obviously, they did not sell many of the albums.
Now, almost 20 years later, the album has become “cult”… officially.
The 200 albums that were left somewhere in philippe’s and tibor’s basements are almost sold out now; since 2002, when some Scandinavian electro-freaks re-discovered that album, some kind of a collector’s frenzy started to happen, people from all over the world wrote to philippe and tibor, and all of them tried to buy as many as possible of the albums.
Today, on October 25th 2004, very few albums are left and will be sold at 30 euros each. If you’re interested in buying one, please write to “philippe at soniccontent.com”
